A Small Rant

Usually, I don't write much on this blog, mainly because I'm not good at it, and also because it's mostly a way for friends and family to keep up with the kids through pictures.  But something has made me so angry I just had to vent about it.  This woman in California who had octuplets. A single 33 year old woman who already has 6 kids- 7, 6, 5, 3, and 2 year old twins. Who lives with her parents who just filed for bankruptcy!!  According to the grandmother, the woman has an "addiction" to having kids. WTF!!!  

What kind of irresponsible MD would implant 8 embryos into this woman?? If it truly was IVF and not IUI, that goes against every guideline that reproductive endocrinologists have in place. The media is celebrating this birth as if it was a successful IVF. It is not!! The goal is ONE healthy baby, not 8.  I know several people who have had a painful struggle with infertility and long for just a healthy baby. I hope this woman gets the psychiatric care she needs.  God bless those children.
